How to build a planet

The Keys

Having children is scary. It's like someone hands you the keys to the universe and then tells you to do whatever you want to do. I have been a parent now for over 6 years and I still feel like I don't know what I am doing. Often I feel that the kids are smarter than I am. But I have wisdom, I think, or at least a little bit of fortitude to install some survivor skills in my children: eat, sleep, brush teeth, go to school--generalize then specialize.

Another thing that's great about having children, is you can plagiarize their drawings for your next asemic novel.

La lune est drôle

The Moon is "Funny". It is always doing its disappearing dance. The planet THAT will include a moon named Funny because, like Earth, a moon helps to get the action rolling. Werewolves and tidal shifts are 2 points of action that I would also like to include on THAT. Below is a relevant Youtube video. Hopefully THAT will have better graphics.

Tools = Beer

I suppose that I'll need some tools to create my planet, my hands and my mind are a given necessity. I own some general carpentry and plumbing tools but will have a definite need for electronic and computer repair tools. Dental and surgical tools are important too, as are chef's tools. I will also need beer making tools, because without beer, what's the point?! In fact, I will need flowers and bees, and honey to brew meed. I'll need grapes for wine. Alcohol will get the action moving. I imagine Earth will supply most of the initial resources to get planet THAT going, after which the plan is to become entirely self sufficient. The power for planet THAT will be solar power supplied by the sun. I'll need Oceans, sky, robots, dirt, metal, computers, sand, movies, and bicycles. Cars and TV will be off the list , because I want to see if I can live without them. I currently own a car but no TV. To make $ to get THAT off the ground, the plan is to write asemic scripts to direct the action on Earth. Asemic writing is an essential component for the entire project. I'll tell more about it soon!

Telepathic crap

One problem with living on an AI planet is the very real possibility that telepathy or techlepathy could begin to become a reality. If the entire planet is wired and conscious how do you maintain an individual mind in such an environment? If everyone's brain is wired to the internet how best to edit one's thoughts? This entire situation could lead to a dangerous level of conformity, as people suppress their thoughts and emotions. I can foresee that political or artistic conditions building up to explosive levels. So maybe the thing to do is let the revolution fly and see what happens. The crash might be well worth the wait.

Get Raedy to Move

This image is from a NASA Astronaut holding up a for sale sign. THAT is not for sale.

Sick like the dog I ate in Mexico

Travel is something I love to do, and I am ill that I do not have the means to travel. Hopefully now that I am sick, I can use my sickness as a way to quit smoking, save money, and take my family camping. There are a few places I'd like to take them. The plan is to first escape from Minneapolis and drive towards Southwest Minnesota, visit the Jeffers petroglyphs, and then visit Pipestone MN. After Pipestone, I'd like to visit Blue Mound State Park to see the Buffalo. The trip will end in my birthplace Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Now what does this have to do with the planet THAT? Answer: research my friends. There is some rich history at the places I mentioned. Everyone should be interested in history; its truths and fallacies. An AI planet needs to be especially cautious about its history. There needs to be checks and balances so that one group can't overwrite the history of another; after all the constitution will be written with asemic writing, this being the promised post-literate society and all.

THAT will have a system restore point, and Earth and the stars will stand guard.

The Crash Landing Lunch at The Cafe Decameron

I am sure that any day now I will crash on THAT. Hopefully I'll be able to walk away from the situation with my mynd intact, or at least half my mynd intact. One of the most important objects that will be housed on THAT is my Paranoia Machine (the hat I wear on the internet). The PM is a scary book. I don't think that the Earth can handle the weight of its existence. The PM is my peripheral vision reading machine. It's my nightmare machine. It's a book with no beginning and no end. The pages of The PM just spin around in circles in an orbit beyond the lens. I like to read the PM when I am hanging out at The Cafe Decameron. The Cafe D is the only cafe on THAT, and the cafe is currently hiring. The ideal employee will be familiar with a Babel Fish/ xenolinguistics, and French Lettrisme. I don't own the cafe but I am a regular.

AI Planet: A short film found on youtube

A reason

The concept for designing a planet has been with me for a few years. I have been a fan of science fiction films since I first saw Star Wars in the theater in the 1970's. The next day after seeing the film my brother was born. Life on multiple planets would definitely make things more interesting, so why not begin by expanding into our own solar system, or better yet begin in a pure state of consciousness. The universe is a complex place, and it's hard to get your name out into the world, though there is probably more to life then fame anyway, or maybe not.

Money for funding this project will come from somewhere. Maybe I'll sell a few books, or get a job as a janitor. My first dilemma, or choice, is to decide if THAT should be a flat planet or round planet. It could also exist as both. I think I'll let my computer decide.

Size is another issue. I am thinking that THAT should fit in a pocket.

The singularity +1

Planning Stages

THAT is going to be an AI construct planet in our current solar system. It will be a place to test out completely the corona of Earth's rapidly evolving post-literate society. THAT is my first attempt at designing a planet. It currently exists as conception but is rapidly becoming a reality. I know very little about technology or geology but am capable of learning.

Who am I? My name is Michael Jacobson. I was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota USA. Now, I currently reside in Minneapolis. I am a writer of wordless books with 4 projects completed: The Giant's Fence, Action Figures, The Paranoia Machine, and Mynd Eraser. There is a gallery of asemic writing I curate dubbed The New Post-Literate. I am also an editorial board member of SCRIPTjr.nl.

Why a planet? A basic answer is I need a place to put my stuff. I am currently homeless and couch surfing. This condition, to put it bluntly, sucks! I am also thinking that THAT might be the first intergalactic homeless shelter.

More tomorrow.
